Do the air filters you sell remove odors? top

No, but it will remove most tobacco and smoke particles which will reduce odors.

Why are the air filters electrostatically charged? top

The postive and negative charges on the furnace filter's fiber will attract more particles than without. The particles (such as tobacco smoke, dander, and dust) traveling through the air are also charged; positive particles attract to the negative charges on the filter and negative particles are attracted to positive charges on the filter.

What is the difference between fiberglass filters and lifetime filters? top

Fiberglass filters were originally developed to protect your furnace and/or air conditioning system. They were not intended to significantly improve your indoor air quality. Our filters were created to protect your furnace equipment and clean the air you breathe.

Our filters improve your indoor air quality by attracting and capturing allergy-aggravating microparticles. Your air is cleaned each time it recirculates through the filter.

Does the furnace filter eliminate house dusting? top

Our filters may reduce the need for dusting, but will not eliminate it. Atmospheric dust consists of a wide variety of particulates ranging in size from 0.001 micron to a relatively large 100 microns. The large particles, because of their weight, will settle on your furniture long before they could reach your filter.

Is restricted air flow a problem for the furnace? top

If you use our filter for longer than three months without cleaning, especially the 94% efficient models, it may begin to restrict airflow or cause your heating/cooling system to malfunction. It also could restrict airflow in some higher-efficiency air conditioning systems. When in doubt, clean the filter more frequently.

What is the air resistance of your air filters? top

Low air resistance is vital when using a high efficiency filter. Our filters have 0.12 WG air resistance rating. The lower the number, the better.

When the filter gets dirty, the air resistance goes up, which can cause the furnace/air conditioner to work harder than necessary. It is imperative to clean the air filter on a regular basis (normally once a month) to keep air resistance low.

What is the difference between gold and silver frames? top

Our Gold filter is a gold anodized extruded aluminum frame. It consists of 4 separate pieces fastened together by a screw on each corner. These filters only come in a 1” depth.

Our Silver frame is made of a single piece of roll-formed aluminum riveted together on one corner, it is slightly less strong and sturdy as the gold frame but is a more cost-effective filter. Our silver frame filters can be purchased in ½”, 1”, or 2” depths.

Neither frame will rust.
